Capoeira Ceara (Gisborne) 2nd Batizado e Troca de Cordao
Capoeira Ceara (Gisborne) are happy to announce that we are having our second Capoeira event in Gisborne this April. We are privileged to again have our Master (Mestre Caboclin) coming over to visit us from London to train and grade our small group and give workshops to …us and our friends from the other NZ Capoeira groups.
The event will run from Friday 27 April at 6pm through the whole weekend until early Sunday afternoon. There will be a load of Capoeira workshops from Mestre Caboclin and our guests (listed below), Batizado y Troca de Cordao, demonstrations, bbq and party.
Special guests that have been confirmed to come to our event are:
Mestre Bira (Capoeira Resistencia – Wellington)
Professor Perere (Aruande Capoeira – Wellington)
Instutor Mercurio (Capoeira Brasil – Mount Maunganui/Tauranga)
We would like to invite all Capoeiristas from around NZ to come and join us at our event.

Saturday 28th: 10-1115am Workshop
1130-1230 Capoeira Ceara Batizado
1230-130 Lunch break
130-230pm Street Roda/demonstration
3-415 pm Workshop
430-545pm Workshop
7pm Bbq and party
Sunday 29th: 10 or 11am start for workshop then big leaving Roda
Participation costs are: Whole weekend $100 (earlybird payment $90*)
Saturday only $80 (earlybird payment $70*)
*Earlybird payments must be received by 30th March.
Free camping will be included in the fee, provided at my house over the road from Wainui Beach! You will need to bring your own tent. Students not wanting to camp maybe able to be billeted with Capoeira Ceara students if this is sorted out early. Also there is a range of cheap accomodation in Gisborne at the YHA Backpackers and Flying Nun backpackers.
